Yet Another Eland Cables Charity Run!

1st July 2007
We did it! Nine of us at Eland Cables took part in the 10km London Run, choosing to raise money for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity. We are proud to say that we raised a total of £2,500. Everyone ran extremely well, and thankfully no-one managed to overtake Philip Brown, the Managing Director, at any point. The painful legs are well worth it for the sense of achievement we all now feel!
Eland Donates to Flood Relief in South Yorkshire

1st July 2007
The devastation of this summer's flooding has hit close to home, affecting the area directly surrounding Eland's Doncaster Distribution Centre. Eland has donated £2000 to the South Yorkshire Charity Foundation's Flood Disaster Relief Fund to support our local community. Additionally, for those customers based in South Yorkshire and Humberside we will donate 1% of order value to the SYCF Flood Disaster Relief Fund for all orders placed during July.

1st July 2007
Every office needs stationery, but who would have thought that such a staple daily requirement could also lead to helping those in need! We recently stumbled upon Wild Hearts in Action, a web-based stationery supplier which donates 100% of all its profits towards saving the lives of children throughout the world. So now every time we buy a hole punch, we will be keeping a child in the East African famine alive for a month.
Another Eland Cables Runner for Charity!

10th June 2007
With all these runners at Eland we could probably form an Olympic Team! This week Suzanne, Graphic Designer, took up the challenge to take part in the Race for Life, which is a 5K run for women to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The money is used for preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.
She ran the entire 5km despite the heat and managed to raise over £500! Watch this space for our 10km run on the July 1st.
