An 'extraordinary' achievement for Eland

Trophy Best Companies awardBest practice from Eland Cables

It’s official, Eland Cables is an ‘extraordinary’ cable company – and it’s not just the employees who think so. That’s the verdict from the Best Companies to Work For Accreditation 2009 event, at which Eland walked away with the top award: ‘Three Star Status’.

Best Companies Accreditation rewards businesses for achieving a high level of workplace engagement, by measuring company performance in eight key areas – including ‘Leadership’ and ‘Personal Growth’. Of the 795 small, medium and large companies entering the scheme this year, only 55 were awarded the coveted three stars – and only one cable company. The process is rigorous, and a company’s final ‘star rating’ is very much determined by its own employees.

Although it’s the first time Eland has received three stars, its innovative approach to business did not go unnoticed by the Best Companies team. With its focus on strong communication, great service and creative morale-boosting solutions, Eland was singled-out for demonstrating best practice in a number of key areas - including the ‘My Manager’ category.

‘This month has been truly amazing for Eland,’ says Managing Director, Philip Brown. ‘First we launched a highly successful 3D modelling campaign, and now we’ve been acknowledged as one of top-performing companies in the country. We believe in hiring the best to deliver the best results – and given that it’s only January, I believe we’re going to be stronger than ever this coming year!’
