A healthy and safe place
At Eland Cables we regard the promotion of Health & Safety measures as a mutual objective for management and employees - the best way to protect and reassure both our own people and all the people who work with us. As in all the areas we work in, we endeavour to not only meet the relevant criteria but also dynamically assess and create a culture of continual improvement.
As well as nurturing a mutual culture of safety, we invest in the equipment needed to maintain safety levels in all areas. Ongoing education is an important part of our dynamic programme. Our tried and tested processes are also built on an awareness of safety at every level. Across our business we take every reasonable precaution to ensure potential risks are properly assessed and acted on.
Our aim, working closely with everyone in the company, is to ensure all reasonable measures are taken
- To provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all of its employees and visitors to the company’s premises
- To meet, and exceed where applicable, Health & Safety statutory requirements
- To invest in training and develop guidelines to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently
- To make available all necessary safety devices and protective equipment and to supervise their use
- To maintain a constant and continuing interest in health and safety matters applicable to the company’s activities, in particular, by consulting with Health & Safety professionals regularly and involving employees wherever possible
All employees have a duty to co-operate in the operation of the company’s policy:
- By working safely and efficiently
- By using the protective equipment provided and by meeting statutory obligations
- By adhering to company procedures, for securing a safe workplace
- By reporting incidents that have led or potential hazards that may lead to injury to people or damage to property, plant or equipment
- By assisting in the investigation of accidents with the objective of introducing new measures to prevent a recurrence
